Two other members of this gene family, SNAP23 and SNAP25, encode proteins that bind a syntaxin protein and mediate synaptic vesicle membrane docking and fusion to the plasma membrane. The protein encoded by this gene binds tightly to multiple syntaxins and is localized to intracellular membrane structures rather than to the plasma membrane. While the protein is mostly membrane-bound, a significant fraction of it is found free in the cytoplasm. Use of multiple polyadenylation sites has been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: SNAREs, soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor- attachment protein receptors, are essential proteins for fusion of cellular membranes. SNAREs localized on opposing membranes assemble to form a trans-SNARE complex, an extended, parallel four alpha-helical bundle that drives membrane fusion. SNAP29 is a SNARE involved in autophagy through the direct control of autophagosome membrane fusion with the lysososome membrane. Plays also a role in ciliogenesis by regulating membrane fusions. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:23217709, ECO:0000269|PubMed:25686250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:25686604}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |V-SNARE C| |SNARE| |SNAP-25| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |ciliary pocket membrane| |autophagosome membrane docking| |synaptic vesicle fusion to presynaptic active zone membrane| |vesicle fusion to plasma membrane| |synaptic vesicle priming| |SNAP receptor activity| |autophagosome membrane| |autophagosome maturation| |SNARE complex| |syntaxin binding| |azurophil granule membrane| |synaptic vesicle exocytosis| |exocytic process| |autophagosome| |vesicle fusion| |organelle membrane fusion| |vesicle targeting| |presynapse| |organelle fusion| |signal release from synapse| |neurotransmitter secretion| |synaptic vesicle cycle| |vesicle-mediated transport in synapse| |membrane fusion| |macroautophagy| |signal release| |organelle localization by membrane tethering| |establishment of vesicle localization| |neurotransmitter transport| |membrane docking| |vesicle localization| |protein-containing complex disassembly| |process utilizing autophagic mechanism| |autophagy| |vesicle organization| |cilium assembly| |regulation of neurotransmitter levels| |establishment of organelle localization| |cilium organization| |cellular component disassembly| |chemical synaptic transmission| |anterograde trans-synaptic signaling| |trans-synaptic signaling| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection assembly| |cell projection assembly| |synaptic signaling| |neutrophil degranulation| |centrosome| |neutrophil activation involved in immune response| |neutrophil mediated immunity| |neutrophil activation| |granulocyte activation| |leukocyte degranulation| |myeloid leukocyte mediated immunity| |myeloid cell activation involved in immune response| |organelle localization| |myeloid leukocyte activation| |Golgi membrane| |leukocyte activation involved in immune response| |cell activation involved in immune response| |regulated exocytosis| |organelle assembly| |leukocyte mediated immunity| |exocytosis| |cellular protein-containing complex assembly| |membrane organization| |leukocyte activation| |secretion by cell| |export from cell| |cell activation| |immune effector process| |cell-cell signaling| |secretion| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |protein transport| |peptide transport| |protein-containing complex assembly| |amide transport| |establishment of protein localization| |cellular catabolic process| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| |immune response| |vesicle-mediated transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |ONC212 0.15μM R08 exp513|-1.8| |2-Methoxyestradiol 0.2μM R01 exp40|1.71| |39°C R06 exp303|2.13| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 10/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|1/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|1/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|1/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|1/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|3/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 4690 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.49 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='SNAP29 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.49'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:37by 127.0.0.1
