Tachykinin proteins are cleaved into small, secreted peptides that activate members of a family of receptor proteins. The products of this gene preferentially activate tachykinin receptor 1, and are thought to regulate peripheral endocrine and paracrine functions including blood pressure, the immune system, and endocrine gland secretion. The products of this gene lack a dibasic cleavage site found in other tachykinin proteins. Consequently, the nature of the cleavage products generated in vivo remains to be determined. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Tachykinins are active peptides which excite neurons, evoke behavioral responses, are potent vasodilators and secretagogues, and contract (directly or indirectly) many smooth muscles. Endokinin-A induces thermal hyperalgesia and pain-related behavior such as scratching following intrathecal administration in rats. These effects are suppressed by treatment with endokinin- C. Endokinin-A/B reduces arterial blood pressure and increases sperm motility. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12716968, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17101218, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17437961, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17655832}. <button type='default' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> No Pfam Domain information is available for this gene. </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |substance P receptor binding| |tachykinin receptor signaling pathway| |positive regulation of flagellated sperm motility| |positive regulation of cilium-dependent cell motility| |regulation of flagellated sperm motility| |regulation of cilium-dependent cell motility| |positive regulation of reproductive process| |cell| |regulation of reproductive process| |regulation of blood pressure| |positive regulation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration| |regulation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration| |blood circulation| |circulatory system process| |cellular calcium ion homeostasis| |calcium ion homeostasis| |cellular divalent inorganic cation homeostasis| |divalent inorganic cation homeostasis| |inflammatory response| |positive regulation of cell motility| |positive regulation of cellular component movement| |positive regulation of locomotion| |cellular metal ion homeostasis| |metal ion homeostasis| |cellular cation homeostasis| |cellular ion homeostasis| |cation homeostasis| |inorganic ion homeostasis| |cellular chemical homeostasis| |ion homeostasis| |cellular homeostasis| |regulation of cell motility| |regulation of locomotion| |regulation of cellular component movement| |chemical homeostasis| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |defense response| |extracellular space| |homeostatic process| |system process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Hydroxyurea 100μM R07 exp329|-2.1| |IWR1 50μM R08 exp495|-2| |Diepoxybutane 3μM R07 exp354|-1.9| |UMK57 0.6μM R03 exp107|-1.77| |Rapamycin 2μM plus FK-506 5μM R07 exp308|-1.7| |Hydroxychloroquine 30μM R08 exp490|1.95| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 6129 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 0.78 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='TAC4 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 0.78'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:37by 127.0.0.1
