Defects in this gene have been associated with Fanconi anemia of complementation group T. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Accepts ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzes its covalent attachment to other proteins. Catalyzes monoubiquitination. Involved in mitomycin-C (MMC)-induced DNA repair. Acts as a specific E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme for the Fanconi anemia complex by associating with E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase FANCL and catalyzing monoubiquitination of FANCD2, a key step in the DNA damage pathway (PubMed:16916645, PubMed:17938197, PubMed:19111657, PubMed:19589784, PubMed:28437106). Also mediates monoubiquitination of FANCL and FANCI (PubMed:16916645, PubMed:17938197, PubMed:19111657, PubMed:19589784). May contribute to ubiquitination and degradation of BRCA1 (PubMed:19887602). In vitro able to promote polyubiquitination using all 7 ubiquitin Lys residues, but may prefer 'Lys-11'-, 'Lys-27'-, 'Lys-48'- and 'Lys- 63'-linked polyubiquitination (PubMed:20061386). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16916645, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17938197, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19111657, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19589784, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19887602, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20061386, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28437106}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |UQ con| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |protein K27-linked ubiquitination| |protein K29-linked ubiquitination| |protein K6-linked ubiquitination| |protein K11-linked ubiquitination| |protein K63-linked ubiquitination| |ubiquitin conjugating enzyme activity| |interstrand cross-link repair| |protein K48-linked ubiquitination| |protein monoubiquitination| |protein autoubiquitination| |ubiquitin-protein transferase activity| |ubiquitin protein ligase binding| |protein polyubiquitination| |chromatin binding| |DNA repair| |protein ubiquitination| |DNA metabolic process| |protein modification by small protein conjugation| |cellular response to DNA damage stimulus| |nucleolus| |protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |ATP binding| |cellular response to stress| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 3/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|1/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 1244 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.99 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='UBE2T Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.99'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:37by 127.0.0.1
