ANTXR2

Gene Information
  • Official Symbol: ANTXR2
  • Official Name: ANTXR cell adhesion molecule 2
  • Aliases and Previous Symbols: N/A
  • Entrez ID: 118429
  • UniProt: P58335
  • Interactions: BioGRID
  • PubMed articles: Open PubMed
  • OMIM: Open OMIM
Function Summary
  • Entrez Summary: This gene encodes a receptor for anthrax toxin. The protein binds to collagen IV and laminin, suggesting that it may be involved in extracellular matrix adhesion. Mutations in this gene cause juvenile hyaline fibromatosis and infantile systemic hyalinosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009].
  • UniProt Summary: Necessary for cellular interactions with laminin and the extracellular matrix. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11683410, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12973667}.
