The protein encoded by this gene binds specifically to the activated form of calcineurin and inhibits calcineurin-mediated signal transduction. The encoded protein is found in the nucleus and contains a leucine zipper domain as well as several PEST motifs, sequences which confer targeted degradation to those proteins which contain them. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding two different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: May be required for replication-independent chromatin assembly. May serve as a negative regulator of T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling via inhibition of calcineurin. Inhibition of activated calcineurin is dependent on both PKC and calcium signals. Acts as a negative regulator of p53/TP53 by keeping p53 in an inactive state on chromatin at promoters of a subset of it's target genes. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:14718166, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9655484}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |MEF2 binding| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |nucleosome binding| |protein phosphatase inhibitor activity| |DNA replication-independent nucleosome assembly| |DNA replication-independent nucleosome organization| |aggresome| |negative regulation of phosphoprotein phosphatase activity| |negative regulation of protein dephosphorylation| |negative regulation of phosphatase activity| |negative regulation of dephosphorylation| |nucleosome assembly| |regulation of phosphoprotein phosphatase activity| |chromatin assembly| |regulation of protein dephosphorylation| |chromatin assembly or disassembly| |nucleosome organization| |regulation of phosphatase activity| |DNA packaging| |protein-DNA complex assembly| |regulation of dephosphorylation| |protein-DNA complex subunit organization| |DNA conformation change| |negative regulation of hydrolase activity| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein modification process| |chromatin organization| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |cellular protein-containing complex assembly| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |chromosome organization| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of molecular function| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |protein-containing complex assembly| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of protein modification process| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Colchicine 0.009μM R05 exp215|-2.32| |Nocodazole 0.2μM R02 exp64|-1.79| |Glyphosate 1000μM R06 exp283|1.81| |LY2090314 0.003μM R08 exp500 no dilution day6|1.81| |Geldanamycin 0.01μM R05 exp235|1.87| |BI-D1870 3.15μM R02 exp66|2.05| |Aminopterin 0.005μM R07 exp335|2.52| |UMK57 1μM R01 exp59|2.67| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/726 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/25| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/15| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/14| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/7| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 2046 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 7.21 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='CABIN1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 7.21'> </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
