This pharmacological effect requires nicotinic acid doses that are much higher than those provided by a normal diet. Mediates nicotinic acid-induced apoptosis in mature neutrophils. Receptor activation by nicotinic acid results in reduced cAMP levels which may affect activity of cAMP-dependent protein kinase A and phosphorylation of target proteins, leading to neutrophil apoptosis. The rank order of potency for the displacement of nicotinic acid binding is 5- methyl pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid = pyridine-3-acetic acid > acifran > 5-methyl nicotinic acid = acipimox >> nicotinuric acid = nicotinamide. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17932499}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |7tm 1| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |nicotinic acid receptor activity| |positive regulation of adiponectin secretion| |neutrophil apoptotic process| |positive regulation of neutrophil apoptotic process| |myeloid cell apoptotic process| |regulation of adiponectin secretion| |inflammatory cell apoptotic process| |regulation of neutrophil apoptotic process| |positive regulation of myeloid cell apoptotic process| |neutrophil homeostasis| |negative regulation of lipid catabolic process| |leukocyte apoptotic process| |positive regulation of leukocyte apoptotic process| |regulation of myeloid cell apoptotic process| |regulation of endocrine process| |regulation of lipid catabolic process| |leukocyte homeostasis| |negative regulation of lipid metabolic process| |regulation of leukocyte apoptotic process| |myeloid cell homeostasis| |positive regulation of hormone secretion| |homeostasis of number of cells| |regulation of hormone secretion| |positive regulation of protein secretion| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |negative regulation of catabolic process| |regulation of lipid metabolic process| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |positive regulation of protein transport| |positive regulation of secretion| |positive regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of protein secretion| |regulation of peptide secretion| |regulation of hormone levels| |cell junction| |regulation of system process| |positive regulation of apoptotic process| |positive regulation of programmed cell death| |positive regulation of cell death| |regulation of protein transport| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |regulation of secretion| |apoptotic process| |positive regulation of transport| |regulation of catabolic process| |regulation of protein localization| |programmed cell death| |cell death| |positive regulation of immune system process| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of apoptotic process| |regulation of programmed cell death| |homeostatic process| |regulation of immune system process| |regulation of cell death| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |regulation of transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp466|Cannabidiol 20μM R08 exp466]]|1.98| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 18796 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -2.28 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='HCAR2 Expression in NALM6 Cells: -2.28'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2025/12/10 20:19by 127.0.0.1
