The release of this cytokine renders the tumor-associated vasculature sensitive to tumor necrosis factor. The precursor protein is identical to the p43 subunit, which is associated with the multi-tRNA synthetase complex, and it modulates aminoacylation activity of tRNA synthetase in normal cells. This protein is also involved in the stimulation of inflammatory responses after proteolytic cleavage in tumor cells. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 20. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Non-catalytic component of the multisynthase complex. Stimulates the catalytic activity of cytoplasmic arginyl-tRNA synthase. Binds tRNA. Possesses inflammatory cytokine activity. Negatively regulates TGF-beta signaling through stabilization of SMURF2 by binding to SMURF2 and inhibiting its SMAD7-mediated degradation. Involved in glucose homeostasis through induction of glucagon secretion at low glucose levels. Promotes dermal fibroblast proliferation and wound repair. Regulates KDELR1- mediated retention of HSP90B1/gp96 in the endoplasmic reticulum. Plays a role in angiogenesis by inducing endothelial cell migration at low concentrations and endothelian cell apoptosis at high concentrations. Induces maturation of dendritic cells and monocyte cell adhesion. Modulates endothelial cell responses by degrading HIF-1A through interaction with PSMA7. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:10358004, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11157763, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11306575, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11818442, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12237313, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19362550}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |tRNA bind| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |positive regulation of glucagon secretion| |regulation of glucagon secretion| |aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase multienzyme complex| |GTPase binding| |negative regulation of endothelial cell proliferation| |tRNA aminoacylation for protein translation| |tRNA aminoacylation| |amino acid activation| |tRNA binding| |positive regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |negative regulation of epithelial cell proliferation| |positive regulation of hormone secretion| |regulation of endothelial cell proliferation| |cytokine activity| |tRNA metabolic process| |defense response to virus| |regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |regulation of hormone secretion| |response to virus| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |cellular amino acid metabolic process| |angiogenesis| |regulation of epithelial cell proliferation| |leukocyte migration| |translation| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |peptide biosynthetic process| |blood vessel morphogenesis| |positive regulation of secretion| |ncRNA metabolic process| |blood vessel development| |regulation of peptide secretion| |inflammatory response| |vasculature development| |cardiovascular system development| |amide biosynthetic process| |peptide metabolic process| |regulation of hormone levels| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |response to wounding| |cell surface| |tube morphogenesis| |negative regulation of cell population proliferation| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of secretion by cell| |cellular amide metabolic process| |regulation of secretion| |tube development| |circulatory system development| |protein homodimerization activity| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |carboxylic acid metabolic process| |apoptotic process| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |defense response to other organism| |cell migration| |Golgi apparatus| |positive regulation of transport| |oxoacid metabolic process| |endoplasmic reticulum| |organic acid metabolic process| |programmed cell death| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |immune effector process| |cell death| |cell-cell signaling| |response to other organism| |response to external biotic stimulus| |locomotion| |response to biotic stimulus| |defense response| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |extracellular space| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |regulation of transport| |membrane| |gene expression| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 18504 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.79 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='AIMP1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.79'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
