The GTPase-activating activity is stimulated by phosphatidylinositol 4,5-biphosphate (PIP2), and is greater towards ARF1 and ARF5, and lesser for ARF6. This gene maybe involved in regulation of membrane trafficking and cytoskeleton remodeling. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Possesses phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate- dependent GTPase-activating protein activity for ARF1 (ADP ribosylation factor 1) and ARF5 and a lesser activity towards ARF6. May coordinate membrane trafficking with cell growth or actin cytoskeleton remodeling by binding to both SRC and PIP2. May function as a signal transduction protein involved in the differentiation of fibroblasts into adipocytes and possibly other cell types (By similarity). Plays a role in ciliogenesis. {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20393563}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |PH| |SH3 2| |ArfGap| |Ank 2| |SH3 1| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |positive regulation of membrane tubulation| |regulation of membrane tubulation| |cell projection membrane| |positive regulation of podosome assembly| |negative regulation of dendritic spine development| |regulation of plasma membrane organization| |regulation of podosome assembly| |negative regulation of dendrite development| |podosome| |phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate binding| |phosphatidylserine binding| |regulation of dendritic spine development| |positive regulation of organelle assembly| |phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate binding| |dendritic spine| |regulation of dendrite development| |negative regulation of neuron projection development| |negative regulation of cell projection organization| |regulation of organelle assembly| |negative regulation of neuron differentiation| |positive regulation of protein complex assembly| |GTPase activator activity| |negative regulation of neurogenesis| |cadherin binding| |negative regulation of nervous system development| |negative regulation of cell development| |cilium assembly| |cilium organization| |positive regulation of GTPase activity| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection assembly| |regulation of protein complex assembly| |cell projection assembly| |regulation of GTPase activity| |regulation of neuron projection development| |positive regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |positive regulation of organelle organization| |regulation of neuron differentiation| |regulation of plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |negative regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of cell projection organization| |negative regulation of cell differentiation| |organelle assembly| |positive regulation of hydrolase activity| |regulation of neurogenesis| |regulation of nervous system development| |regulation of cell development| |negative regulation of developmental process| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |positive regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |regulation of organelle organization| |positive regulation of catalytic activity| |generation of neurons| |neurogenesis| |positive regulation of molecular function| |regulation of cell differentiation| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Cisplatin 0.35μM R06 exp273|-1.92| |Doxorubicin 0.02μM R08 exp478|-1.72| |NFN1 0.4μM R03 exp99|1.78| |Trientine 500μM R08 exp534|1.95| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 8383 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 5.9 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='ASAP1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 5.9'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
