The encoded protein contains an S-adenosylmethionine binding domain and uses the methyl group donor, S-adenosylmethionine. This gene is overexpressed in breast cancer cells, and is related to the tumorigenic phenotype and poor prognosis of breast cancer. The encoded protein is thought to promote the cellular invasion of breast cancer cells, by downregulating the expression of tumor suppressor miRNAs through the dimethylation of the 5-monophosphate of the corresponding precursor miRNAs. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2017]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: O-methyltransferase that specifically dimethylates the 5' monophosphate of pre-miRNAs, acting as a negative regulator of miRNA processing. The 5' monophosphate of pre-miRNAs is recognized by DICER1 and is required for pre-miRNAs processing: methylation at this position reduces the processing of pre-miRNAs by DICER1. Able to mediate methylation of pre-miR-145, as well as other pre- miRNAs. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:23063121}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Bin3| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |negative regulation of pre-miRNA processing| |miRNA 2-O-methylation| |regulation of pre-miRNA processing| |RNA methyltransferase activity| |tRNA methyltransferase activity| |O-methyltransferase activity| |negative regulation of production of miRNAs involved in gene silencing by miRNA| |negative regulation of gene silencing by miRNA| |negative regulation of gene silencing by RNA| |negative regulation of posttranscriptional gene silencing| |regulation of production of miRNAs involved in gene silencing by miRNA| |regulation of production of small RNA involved in gene silencing by RNA| |miRNA metabolic process| |negative regulation of gene silencing| |tRNA methylation| |RNA methylation| |regulation of gene silencing by miRNA| |tRNA modification| |regulation of gene silencing by RNA| |regulation of posttranscriptional gene silencing| |regulation of gene silencing| |tRNA processing| |RNA modification| |tRNA metabolic process| |macromolecule methylation| |methylation| |ncRNA processing| |ncRNA metabolic process| |RNA processing| |negative regulation of RNA metabolic process| |negative regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |RNA metabolic process| |negative regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of gene expression| |gene expression| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Cisplatin 0.35μM R06 exp273|-1.83| |Actinomycin-D 0.01μM R00 exp4|-1.79| |Salubrinal 20μM R07 exp399|-1.74| |Nocodazole 0.02μM R00 exp23|1.79| |KU-0063794 3.8μM R02 exp71|1.8| |GSK-J4 1.5μM R08 exp441|2.01| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 13919 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 3.33 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='BCDIN3D Expression in NALM6 Cells: 3.33'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
