Specifically recognizes growing microtubule minus-ends and autonomously decorates and stabilizes microtubule lattice formed by microtubule minus-end polymerization (PubMed:24486153, PubMed:24706919). Acts on free microtubule minus-ends that are not capped by microtubule-nucleating proteins or other factors and protects microtubule minus-ends from depolymerization (PubMed:24486153, PubMed:24706919). In addition, it also reduces the velocity of microtubule polymerization (PubMed:24486153, PubMed:24706919). Through the microtubule cytoskeleton, also regulates the organization of cellular organelles including the Golgi and the early endosomes (PubMed:27666745). Essential for the tethering, but not for nucleation of non-centrosomal microtubules at the Golgi: together with Golgi-associated proteins AKAP9 and PDE4DIP, required to tether non-centrosomal minus-end microtubules to the Golgi, an important step for polarized cell movement (PubMed:27666745). Also acts as a regulator of neuronal polarity and development: localizes to non-centrosomal microtubule minus-ends in neurons and stabilizes non-centrosomal microtubules, which is required for neuronal polarity, axon specification and dendritic branch formation (PubMed:24908486). Through the microtubule cytoskeleton, regulates the autophagosome transport (PubMed:28726242). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:23169647, ECO:0000269|PubMed:24486153, ECO:0000269|PubMed:24706919, ECO:0000269|PubMed:24908486, ECO:0000269|PubMed:27666745, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28726242}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |CAMSAP CKK| |CAMSAP CH| |CH| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |microtubule end| |microtubule minus-end| |microtubule minus-end binding| |regulation of Golgi organization| |negative regulation of microtubule depolymerization| |spectrin binding| |regulation of microtubule depolymerization| |negative regulation of microtubule polymerization or depolymerization| |regulation of microtubule polymerization| |cytoplasmic microtubule organization| |negative regulation of protein depolymerization| |negative regulation of protein complex disassembly| |regulation of microtubule polymerization or depolymerization| |regulation of protein depolymerization| |regulation of protein complex disassembly| |negative regulation of supramolecular fiber organization| |negative regulation of cytoskeleton organization| |regulation of dendrite development| |regulation of microtubule cytoskeleton organization| |calmodulin binding| |regulation of microtubule-based process| |regulation of protein polymerization| |regulation of supramolecular fiber organization| |negative regulation of organelle organization| |axon development| |regulation of protein complex assembly| |supramolecular fiber organization| |microtubule cytoskeleton organization| |centrosome| |regulation of neuron projection development| |regulation of cytoskeleton organization| |regulation of neuron differentiation| |neuron projection development| |microtubule-based process| |regulation of plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |negative regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of cell projection organization| |neuron development| |regulation of neurogenesis| |regulation of nervous system development| |regulation of cell development| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |Golgi apparatus| |neuron differentiation| |cytoskeleton organization| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |regulation of organelle organization| |generation of neurons| |neurogenesis| |cell development| |regulation of cell differentiation| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Celastrol 0.12μM R05 exp225|-1.93| |Selumetinib 20μM R02 exp81|-1.7| |DKK1 89ng/ml R08 exp477|1.76| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 1/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|1/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 18068 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 4.76 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='CAMSAP2 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 4.76'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
