The encoded protein is required for the production of GPI that can attach to proteins, and this may be an important factor in the transport of GPI-anchored proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi. Defects in this gene are a cause an autosomal recessive form of cognitive impairment. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Involved in inositol deacylation of GPI-anchored proteins. GPI inositol deacylation may important for efficient transport of GPI-anchored proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |PGAP1| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |phosphatidylinositol deacylase activity| |phosphoric ester hydrolase activity| |myo-inositol transport| |attachment of GPI anchor to protein| |hydrolase activity, acting on ester bonds| |polyol transport| |nuclease activity| |forebrain regionalization| |GPI anchor biosynthetic process| |GPI anchor metabolic process| |anterior/posterior axis specification| |embryonic pattern specification| |glycolipid biosynthetic process| |protein lipidation| |axis specification| |lipoprotein biosynthetic process| |phosphatidylinositol biosynthetic process| |glycolipid metabolic process| |liposaccharide metabolic process| |lipoprotein metabolic process| |membrane lipid biosynthetic process| |organic hydroxy compound transport| |sensory perception of sound| |sensory perception of mechanical stimulus| |phosphatidylinositol metabolic process| |membrane lipid metabolic process| |glycerophospholipid biosynthetic process| |endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi vesicle-mediated transport| |anterior/posterior pattern specification| |glycerolipid biosynthetic process| |phospholipid biosynthetic process| |nucleic acid phosphodiester bond hydrolysis| |glycerophospholipid metabolic process| |regionalization| |Golgi vesicle transport| |phospholipid metabolic process| |glycerolipid metabolic process| |forebrain development| |pattern specification process| |organophosphate biosynthetic process| |lipid biosynthetic process| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |brain development| |head development| |organophosphate metabolic process| |endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |sensory perception| |embryo development| |central nervous system development| |endoplasmic reticulum| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |lipid metabolic process| |nervous system process| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |establishment of protein localization| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |vesicle-mediated transport| |system process| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |PFI-2 4μM R05 exp239|-1.9| |Thalidomide 20μM R07 exp406|-1.89| |All-trans-Retinoic-Acid 40μM R07 exp334|1.82| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 10577 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 4.76 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='PGAP1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 4.76'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
