The encoded protein is secreted into the bloodstream and associates with high-density lipoprotein (HDL). The protein also rapidly hydrolyzes lactones and can inhibit the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL), a function that is believed to slow the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis. Alternatively spliced variants which encode different protein isoforms have been described; however, only one has been fully characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Has low activity towards the organophosphate paraxon and aromatic carboxylic acid esters. Rapidly hydrolyzes lactones such as statin prodrugs (e.g. lovastatin). Hydrolyzes aromatic lactones and 5- or 6-member ring lactones with aliphatic substituents but not simple lactones or those with polar substituents. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15772423}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |Arylesterase| |SGL| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |3,4-dihydrocoumarin hydrolase activity| |coumarin catabolic process| |auxin catabolic process| |phenylpropanoid catabolic process| |phenylacetate catabolic process| |aryldialkylphosphatase activity| |auxin metabolic process| |acyl-L-homoserine-lactone lactonohydrolase activity| |negative regulation of superoxide anion generation| |toxin catabolic process| |arylesterase activity| |phenylpropanoid metabolic process| |coumarin metabolic process| |xenobiotic catabolic process| |lipoxygenase pathway| |hormone catabolic process| |regulation of superoxide anion generation| |toxin metabolic process| |benzene-containing compound metabolic process| |regulation of superoxide metabolic process| |negative regulation of reactive oxygen species metabolic process| |secondary metabolic process| |icosanoid metabolic process| |monocarboxylic acid catabolic process| |detoxification| |xenobiotic metabolic process| |fatty acid derivative metabolic process| |regulation of reactive oxygen species metabolic process| |cellular response to xenobiotic stimulus| |hormone metabolic process| |carboxylic acid catabolic process| |organic acid catabolic process| |response to xenobiotic stimulus| |dephosphorylation| |fatty acid metabolic process| |heterocycle catabolic process| |small molecule catabolic process| |aromatic compound catabolic process| |organic cyclic compound catabolic process| |response to toxic substance| |monocarboxylic acid metabolic process| |regulation of hormone levels| |intracellular membrane-bounded organelle| |protein homodimerization activity| |carboxylic acid metabolic process| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |oxoacid metabolic process| |organic acid metabolic process| |lipid metabolic process| |extracellular space| |small molecule metabolic process| |organic substance catabolic process| |cellular catabolic process| |extracellular region| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 14063 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -2.38 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='PON3 Expression in NALM6 Cells: -2.38'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
