These paraspeckles are composed of RNA-protein structures that include a non-coding RNA, NEAT1/Men epsilon/beta, and the Drosophila Behavior Human Splicing family of proteins, which include the product of this gene and the P54NRB/NONO and PSF/SFPQ proteins. Paraspeckles may function in the control of gene expression via an RNA nuclear retention mechanism. The protein encoded by this gene is found in paraspeckles in transcriptionally active cells, but it localizes to unique cap structures at the nucleolar periphery when RNA polymerase II transcription is inhibited, or during telophase. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. A related pseudogene, which is also located on chromosome 13, has been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Regulates, cooperatively with NONO and SFPQ, androgen receptor-mediated gene transcription activity in Sertoli cell line (By similarity). Binds to poly(A), poly(G) and poly(U) RNA homopolymers. Regulates the circadian clock by repressing the transcriptional activator activity of the CLOCK-ARNTL/BMAL1 heterodimer (By similarity). Together with NONO, required for the formation of nuclear paraspeckles. Plays a role in the regulation of DNA virus-mediated innate immune response by assembling into the HDP-RNP complex, a complex that serves as a platform for IRF3 phosphorylation and subsequent innate immune response activation through the cGAS-STING pathway. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q8R326, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22416126, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28712728}. <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> |RRM 1| |NOPS| </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |paraspeckles| |E-box binding| |transcription regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding| |nuclear matrix| |regulation of circadian rhythm| |fibrillar center| |activation of innate immune response| |rhythmic process| |positive regulation of innate immune response| |positive regulation of response to biotic stimulus| |nuclear speck| |regulation of innate immune response| |positive regulation of defense response| |positive regulation of multi-organism process| |regulation of response to biotic stimulus| |positive regulation of response to external stimulus| |activation of immune response| |regulation of defense response| |innate immune response| |regulation of multi-organism process| |positive regulation of immune response| |defense response to other organism| |regulation of response to external stimulus| |regulation of immune response| |positive regulation of immune system process| |negative regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |negative regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |negative regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |response to other organism| |response to external biotic stimulus| |response to biotic stimulus| |negative regulation of RNA metabolic process| |defense response| |negative regulation of cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |RNA binding| |negative regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |negative regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |regulation of response to stress| |negative regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of biosynthetic process| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |regulation of immune system process| |negative regulation of gene expression| |immune response| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> ^Screen^Score^ |Oligomycin-A 2μM R00 exp25|-2.75| |Wortmannin 5μM R00 exp38|-2.27| |NN-Dimethylsphingosine 2.5μM R08 exp508|-2.19| |Rapamycin 2μM plus FK-506 5μM R07 exp308|-2.01| |Bafilomycin-A1 0.009μM R08 exp454|-1.73| |Chloramphenicol 20μM R00 exp13|-1.73| |Ixabepilone 0.004 to 0.005μM on day4 R04 exp184|1.9| |Bisphenol F 50μM R08 exp457|1.97| |3-Bromopyruvate 7μM R04 exp175|2.45| </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 1/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 15571 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: 6.57 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='PSPC1 Expression in NALM6 Cells: 6.57'> </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:36by 127.0.0.1
