The encoded protein binds to amino acid transporters and regulates their expression on the plasma membrane. It also plays a role in controlling insulin exocytosis by regulating formation of the SNARE (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive-factor attachment protein receptor) complex in pancreatic beta cells. The extracellular domain of the encoded protein may be cleaved and shed from the plasma membrane specifically in pancreatic beta cells. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]. * **<color #00a2e8>UniProt Summary</color>**: Regulator of SNARE complex function. Stimulator of beta cell replication. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16330323}. <button type='default' size='sm' modal='Pfam_Domains'>Pfam Domains</button> <button type='primary' size='sm' modal='GO_terms'>GO Terms</button> <modal id='Pfam_Domains' size='lg' title='Pfam Domains'> No Pfam Domain information is available for this gene. </modal> <modal id='GO_terms' size='lg' title='GO Terms'> |positive regulation of SNARE complex assembly| |positive regulation of vesicle fusion| |regulation of SNARE complex assembly| |positive regulation of calcium ion-dependent exocytosis| |regulation of vesicle fusion| |positive regulation of insulin secretion involved in cellular response to glucose stimulus| |regulation of calcium ion-dependent exocytosis| |positive regulation of regulated secretory pathway| |regulation of insulin secretion involved in cellular response to glucose stimulus| |positive regulation of insulin secretion| |positive regulation of exocytosis| |positive regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |positive regulation of hormone secretion| |regulation of regulated secretory pathway| |regulation of insulin secretion| |regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |regulation of exocytosis| |positive regulation of protein complex assembly| |regulation of hormone secretion| |positive regulation of protein secretion| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |positive regulation of protein transport| |positive regulation of secretion| |regulation of protein complex assembly| |positive regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of protein secretion| |regulation of peptide secretion| |positive regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |regulation of hormone levels| |regulation of vesicle-mediated transport| |positive regulation of organelle organization| |regulation of protein transport| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |regulation of secretion| |protein homodimerization activity| |regulation of cellular localization| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |positive regulation of transport| |regulation of protein localization| |positive regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of organelle organization| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |regulation of transport| </modal> \\ === CRISPR Data === <button type='default' size='small' modal='Compound_Hit'>Compound Hit</button> <button type='default' size='small' modal='Most_Correlated_Genes'>Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics</button> <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Essential_Avana'>Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)</button> <modal id='Compound_Hit' size='lg' title='Compound Hit'> No hits were found. </modal> <modal id='Most_Correlated_Genes' size='lg' title='Most Correlated Genes in Chemogenomics'> No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics. </modal> <modal id='Essential_Avana' size='lg' title='Tissues where Essential in the Avana Dataset (DepMap 20Q1)'> Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/694 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/26| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/30| |central nervous system|0/49| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/11| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/14| |kidney|0/18| |liver|0/19| |lung|0/72| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/25| |pancreas|0/22| |peripheral nervous system|0/15| |plasma cell|0/12| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/20| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/28| |uterus|0/5| </modal> == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **<color #00a2e8>Essentiality Rank</color>**: 17758 * **<color #00a2e8>Expression level (log2 read counts)</color>**: -5.01 <button type='primary' size='small' modal='Dist_expr'>Expression Distribution</button> <modal id='Dist_expr' size='lg' title='TMEM27 Expression in NALM6 Cells: -5.01'> {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}} </modal> Last modified: 2026/01/07 22:37by 127.0.0.1
