ASB12

Gene Information
  • Official Symbol: ASB12
  • Official Name: ankyrin repeat and SOCS box containing 12
  • Aliases and Previous Symbols: N/A
  • Entrez ID: 142689
  • UniProt: Q8WXK4
  • Interactions: BioGRID
  • PubMed articles: Open PubMed
  • OMIM: Open OMIM
Function Summary
  • Entrez Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the ankyrin repeat and SOCS box-containing (ASB) family of proteins. They contain ankyrin repeat sequence and a SOCS box domain. The SOCS box serves to couple suppressor of cytokine signalling (SOCS) proteins and their binding partners with the elongin B and C complex, possibly targeting them for degradation. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011].
  • UniProt Summary: Probable substrate-recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin-Cullin-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16325183}.
